You know a wooden dowel and a water cooler bottle might make a better giant mallet. It might be a little more expensive but not a lot.

  • solidsnake wrote on January 4, 12:23 pm

cheap way to make wings that move like in that kickass DOGMA movie

  • InternWally wrote on January 4, 12:55 pm

sick episode dude. Especially for a kid. That's the best user-submited piece i've seen yet.

  • hotelfboy55 (anon) wrote on January 4, 1:17 pm

This, my friend is the best weekend extra ever! your weapons looked sooo good! I always loved watching looney toons and now I can make those awsome weapons! good job!

  • njfilmcore wrote on January 4, 1:45 pm

This one was amazing. In my opinion it was much better than the gas mask guy.

  • Iris Van Entertainment wrote on January 4, 2:16 pm

I think htis is great that they're showing alot of viewer stuff. But the past few shows have left something to be desired from Indy Mogul. Especially the Weekend Extras. Some more technical tips would really help alot. Maybe you guys should make a new show thats just for the veiwers, whether it be viewer takeover vids or just clips sent in from them. That would be really neat.

As far as this being better than the flamethrower. I dont think so. The flamethrower is more practical and would have more uses than cartoon weapons. But this takeover was pretty good.

The reason we've been doing these viewers videos much more lately is because of the holidays. It's our gift to our loyal viewers and it's easier for us to do while we're away seeing our families.

  • drumsofdoom wrote on January 4, 2:29 pm

    are they still accepting submittions?

  • steve nelson wrote in reply on January 4, 2:34 pm

You can ALWAYS submit your own episodes for Weekend Extra.

  • stevey wonder wrote in reply on January 5, 8:05 am

The audio for the "super time laps" was Exceptional. and the idea was good.

Just a few camera angle probs. over all I loved it

  • SPARC wrote on January 4, 5:05 pm

Great job!! This should have been in the viewer takeover episode IMO. Keep up the good work. You did an excellent job on the time lapse too.

  • joeedh wrote on January 4, 6:43 pm

man, I think that's better then the one that was picked for viewer takeover.

    I feel sorry
both of the video are crab
I'm so glad I didn't waste my time on this.
and I'v been question of the value of indy mogul team.

  • steve nelson wrote in reply on January 5, 6:09 pm

This video was made by an inspired kid and he did an awesome job. Sure, it may not be perfect, but at least he tried. And you can question me all you want, but I like what he did. You didn't make anything, so, don't try and act better than those who did. But I invite you submit a better tutorial, if you can find a way to unglue yourself from making anonymous insults to those who take a chance.

Wile E. Coyote was a fetishist. The ritual itself gave him more pleasure than catching the Roadrunner ever would.

  • maguilla wrote on January 5, 12:48 am

Think this is the way the Farrelly brothers started, good job guys.

  • super-moose wrote on January 5, 5:22 am

Great vid, a general tip though. The mallet still is a bit noticeably boxy, so using non corrugated cardboard (like poster board) is still very inexpensive (a couple bucks for a sheet large enough) and would roll up easier, and neater.

  • ( Your Name Here ) wrote on January 5, 7:39 am

Hey Steve , Eric or Justin can you guys just post all the entries for the Viewer take over on like the video page, so we can see all the cool FX that were sent in????

  • hayden wrote on January 5, 11:18 am

    awesome!!!!!

  • Basonjothwick wrote on January 5, 9:18 pm

Shouldn't he have a mask on when he's spray painting? I would recomend a mask.

  • Viva La Productions wrote on January 6, 3:18 pm

I personally think that if the classic cartoon explosion could be found (or even drawn up on a program like flash) it would be appropriate for this type of effect. Having this drawn explosion would certainly add to the "realism" of the cartoon weapons.
On another note, it would also be a good idea to stabilize the giant hammer with the hammer being hollow; it would be very prone to collapsing in on itself. Putting a section of circular cardboard in between the two sides may be all it takes.
A very exceptional job on the video.

I agree... better than the flame thrower, and not as self delusional. This is what it's about.. honest creativity.

Can you guys do Cartoon Effects next?

  • krissi_cool wrote on July 12, 7:53 am

    I din´t get the testfilm.

CARTOON WEAPONS!!!

Now, I was never one who thought Wiley Coyote gave it his all when chasing after Roadrunner, but I did admire his collection of ACME Cartoon Weapons. And now thanks to Teddy Carter, who submitted this awesome tutorial for the BFX Viewer Takeover, I can green screen myself into Looney Toons and kick the living s*** out of that f***ing bird.
