Cool! Some great tips there...except maybe the nailing your tripod to the floor thing!

  • CPOStudios wrote on December 14, 5:28 pm

Very informative. Love hearing simple little basic tips that will make big improvements from someone who is a specialist. The ease-in ease-out thing is really simple, but effective, and something I didn't do with my Lego Studio productions eight years ago. :) I love doing animation every now and then for visuals, mostly with C4D, but the principles translate easily.

  • KMProductions wrote on December 14, 5:29 pm

That was cool. I liked it. I'm going to try istopmotion.

  • CPOStudios wrote on December 14, 5:32 pm

Just a note: I hate when people complain about videos being "boring." Indy Mogul does a good job making tutorials and tips fun, but sometimes if they are doing a special that requires a lot of information, they need to pack it to the brim with just that. In filmmaking you have to be patient and care about the information part too if you want to benefit. I think Indy Mogul does a good balance of info and fun. Stop complaining and appreciate this free resource. Can't you go for seven minutes without the fluff aspect that spruces it up for an episode now and again?

    Sorry, it just bothered me.

  • CPOStudios wrote on December 14, 5:36 pm

Last thing (sorry, I am so used to an edit button): If the person/people who said that are joking, it is still said elsewhere seriously. I'm not active here so I don't know who's who. Those are just my thought.

YEah, a little boring at times, but still good. I am going to check out that istopmotion one, seems cool with the onion skin thing.

Is that the drummer of Orgy or something? lol. Sweet earrings.

    Good episode!

Nailing your camerato the floor micht seem a bit much but it is actualy a good idea.

Securing your camera/trypod in place is crucial with stop motion, any little bump to your cam looks like a huge tremor on screen when you play it back.
If you dont want to nail it to the floor (wich they sometimes do at ardman) use a spreader, sandbags, gaffertape or any other way to make sure your camera stays where it is.

You people and your Macs...gosh. *sigh* I wish I could get a Mac. But alas, I side with PC because I can get Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop CS, and Illustrator CS for free.

Hey, when it hits January 1st, is that verifying question that's on every comment box going to change to 2008? Or is it going to confirm that we're all spam bots? XD

  • Blu Mage wrote in reply on December 15, 2:13 pm

Oh, and the nailing to the floor thing, I'm stuck using gaffer tape or regular spike tape because my work space floor is cement.

You've got some great stuff Javan Ivey! You'll go far for sure!
