BALL CANCER!!! NICE! This is hilarious... especially since I *JUST* asked Erik if he has a green screen! That was awesome! I hope this dude gets laid! ;)

This is great. More please! I like learning about stuff.

  • Langalot wrote on June 29, 8:06 pm

Super cool. You guys are great. Here's a technical question: How do I deal with interlacing problems and/or what in the world causes them in the first place? Also, is it possible to have vertical interlacing problems? I always thought fields were horizontal. How many gallons of red water is there in the Red Sea?

  • taxigunman wrote on June 30, 1:07 am

Hey guys, I am making a film noir style film, and the script calls for a small scale set. It would be awesome if you did an episode about it, because anyone could make use of one. Thanks.

Thanx Steve, thanx a lot. I almost choked when you said ball cancer. Tip; don't eat while watching these vids

  • SunneyTehBunney wrote on June 30, 5:07 am

By the way, Erik, you look like you're going to rape him.

    Thought I'd add that. ♥

  • borat wrote on June 30, 5:35 am

what i didn't really get the adobe premier stuff. can you give us a video with better detail on it

  • Superu12 wrote on June 16, 2:40 pm

ya there is no effects tab thing

  • Justinsuperstar wrote on June 30, 11:06 am

Langalot: Most editing programs have a de-interlace filter you can apply to your video to fix things up. Just gotta dig around the filters section. Interlacing is for stuff you'd show on tv to appear to move smoother than 30 fps, I believe. Vertical interlacing sounds crazy - did you flip around your footage or something?

  • Cesigs wrote on June 30, 11:27 am

What happened to Erik and who is this steve guy???? *sniff* im so confused!

  • SunneyTehBunney wrote on June 30, 1:06 pm

Cesigs- You haven't seen him around? He has most of the posts on the blog :) He's one of Erik's slav- friends, I'm sure :D

And it's OK *hughug* we got to see a creepy pic of him!

  • MediaMisfit wrote on June 30, 8:42 pm

This stuff is awesome. I haven't done video in forever.

  • ErikBeck wrote on June 30, 8:46 pm

    Hey Cesigs & Sunny,
Steve is by no means my "slave friend". Steve is super talented and part of the uber funny "On Rye LTD" film group. Backyard FX keeps me pretty busy, so we are getting talented people to do "Indy Mogul Weekend Extra". Thanks for missing me though. It warmed my heart and don't worry...I'm not going anywhere.
    PS. Sunny's fanart was AMAZING!

  • ErikOsBad wrote on July 1, 12:25 am

ey I'm erik with a K, username Erikosbad I was watching a video about headshot effects
and i use my own device which works really well.
what I do is I have an ordinary air compressor, pvc plastic tubing, and fake blood.
what you do is hook up the pvc to the air compressor trigger handle hose using a zip-tie or duct tape, whatever.
Then you make a loop in the hose, use a funnel and add tthe fake blood, making sure it doesnt fall into the air compressor,
hense the loop. Load up the air compressor wih air, point, and quickly tap the trigger to squirt out the blood.
for best resuts use thin tubes

  • borat wrote on July 1, 4:34 pm

Ok you know that lego stuff. how do you get them in the air in your movies without getting your hand, not the third one, in the shots

  • ErikBeck wrote on July 1, 7:10 pm

Whoa whoa, Sunny! You're making a cartoon for Steve now too?
    I am way jealous!

  • Pete359 wrote on July 1, 10:57 pm

  • SunneyTehBunney wrote on July 2, 10:44 am

Don't be jealous Erik *hug*! You're still #1! Besides, you got a chainsaw as a prop, he's going to get some wrinkled up hairy balls next to his face. So...uhh D: yea I think you're still better off!

  • Jacen wrote on July 16, 1:49 am

Hey, is there a way to make it seem like there are more people, like say an army, than there really is?

  • luckydogfog wrote on July 21, 9:51 am

This video made me laugh so much and it was exactly what I was looking for although I have to agree with the above Adobe Premire/ software needs a in-depth video. As 'Shawn of the Dead' proves in the EXTRAS(hint), it was the green screen that gave them 2 of the coolest and CHEAPEST fx, i.e. winchester shot to the head and see-thru hole in the body. Keep up the great work you guys!

  • Leah wrote on July 21, 10:03 pm

  • cian wrote on August 15, 8:07 am

what was that program for windows again?

  • Elliot wrote on August 16, 6:39 pm

I think someone used the spill key because the upper left hand corner was gone in that last shot. :-P

Nice work, the only thing I would recommend is that (at least in Final Cut Pro) you can add multiple Blue/Green screen filters if the lighting it a little off. Also the eye dropper tool helps a lot.

  • DizzyDuckMan wrote on August 23, 5:08 pm

how if your shirt is also green on the green screen

  • Duane (guest) wrote on June 23, 11:02 am

Yo! I recently took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese for a birthday party. While there, i noticed that they've got a blue screen set up and the kids dance in front of it with all kinds of random b/g's, the screen itself was some kind of matte'd plastic, and it was also lit from behind. My question: what sort of materials would be good for building a screen such as that?

    Thanks in advance,
    -duane
