Green Screen. Have your person stand infront of a green screen, and have them wear a green outfit. Simple and easy.

I just saw Paranoid Park from Gus Van Sant. The whole movie is pretty much Mise-En-Scene. Really cool. Check it out if you haven't.

  • kyorai wrote on March 22, 11:15 am

  • Anonymous_review (guest) wrote on March 22, 9:03 pm

Doesn't mise-en-scene mean miscellaneous in scene?

  • steo4101 (guest) wrote on March 22, 10:46 pm

Ha IndyMogul I have a great idea for your next film school episode it should be about setting up a set or preparing a seen for your movie, like if you were going to shoot in your backyard how should it look, or in your room how should the background lights should be placed, I mean I know you guys already did an episode on lighting but I want more! :)

  • yuloveme537 (guest) wrote on March 23, 1:08 am

Idk, I was kinda disappointed by the audio quality of this video, it wasn't normalized and level throughout.

  • Niko K (guest) wrote on March 23, 2:15 pm

Really good one. So simple but still effective way to show some good tricks. ;D

  • mickeyred wrote on March 24, 7:44 am

Why the hell are you chewing gum while doing this video, do me a favor. TAKE THE GUM OUT OF YOUR MOUTH.

On another note I enjoy Indy Mgul VERY much. . . . .

  • KilburnVideography wrote on March 25, 3:35 pm

These truly are the most informative videos you guys do.

  • somekoreanguy (guest) wrote on March 27, 11:02 pm

nice episode guys, stuff i already knew, but really helpful nonetheless! what i think you guys should do is an episode on analyzing film, like taking what you see in a favorite movie and translating it into what you film, which i already do... but yeah. And for the best mise-en-scene, how about No Country For Old Men, like the whole friggin movie, that movie blew me away. aight, peace.

mise en scene--Brian DePalma -"Scarface" as Tony is about to get killed in the South Beach hotel room the camera floats slowly from the window down to Manolo hitting on some girl in the car.
The sound changes from the chainsaw to the radio in the car and back as the camera floats its way back to Tony in peril.
