I like the new intro!
I got on....I am the first 10 second clip!
thanks but i wanted to know what to make them out of
Just use nose puddy or cardboard painted to your actors skin tone or silver if you want them to look like metal. I suggest having your actor wear a shirt, this way you don't need to worry about the transition from fang to skin.
This was my fav Q and Erik so far, love the new intro!
Is it just me or did they change the front of the death ray?
This episode was pretty cool. I can't wait to film my trailer.
Great show, loved it ;)
Really like the new intro guys! Nice to see from the forums back again!
Hey Erik,
You may want to take in consideration that a lot of folks are trying to edit on their windows systems. Unfortunately most Windows boxes don't have firewire ports. So Evan may not be able to just plug in.
There is hope though for folks who don't have firewire, but it'll cost money, desktops folks can get a add on card for 15-50 bucks, and laptops with PCMICIA can add firewire for 30-80 bucks.
Just thought it might be good for folks to know for those stuck with a PC with no firewire.
I build my own PC, can't build your own Mac. (can't buy the OS) o. btw, they overcharge the CRAP out of mac... They were trying to sell me a duel-core CPU, 8600GT, 2gig DDR2-800mhz, 7,200RPM HDD for $2,300 at Best Buy... wow. I built a Quad core Q6600, 8800 Ultra, 2gig DDR2-1066mhz, 10,000 RPM 16meg cache HDD 800Watt PSU, and new heatsink and Vista Ultimate 64-bit for $2,000. 64-BIT FTW
If you actually have a VHS tape recorder, or just any type of recorder that may not be able to get into a computer, all you do is hook it up via an RCA cable (red, yellow, white) going INTO the TV and then an RCA cable going OUT and into a tape deck or one of your firends camera that may have a firewire port.
With programs like iMovie, one of the simplest, you can't use a USB to capture footage. The only way to capture digital footage to a computer for digital editing is through a firewire cable. Theres nothing stopping you from using some else who has a firewire cable, then throw the data onto a USB Hard Drive and then plug it into your computer. All computers have USB's, even the old ones...
The way to edit "analog" is to set up two VCR decks, have one recording FROM the TV, and the one with the footage going INTO the TV, and then literally playing the 10 second clip that you want while pressing record on the other deck, press stop, then find the next clip you want.
We had to do that in my highschool with our outdated TV Station...
Thank god for digital...
Too achieve the night vision look, shoot during the day when it is bright then in your effects program or some nle's you Invert the picture add noise and green ambient color. Its pretty convincing.
Hey Erik. I was wanting to buy a new camcorder, but I really can't spend much money right now; I'm trying to pay for college. One of my friends has a cheap older mini dv camcorder, but he doesn't know anything about it. Is there a website or book that can give me info on older camcorders?
OMG!!! i was on a viewer voicemail!!!! the first one!!
I'm sorry... but does it get annoying answering n00b guestions for the 1st half of the video.. He thought that mini-DV was VHS.... and how to put text on a video??? Even Windows Movie Maker can do that.....
It's a shame that not everyone is as informed and spoiled by their parents as you are...
Buy the way if you key out the green screen AND the skin tone it make a really amazing goast effect. (Also put the opacity down a bit)
thanx for the answer guys!!!
hi erik!
glad your eye is better
where have you been - it was never hurt
Isn't there supposed to be a new episode today????
great tips dude! glad your eye's better.
Quick question about the night vision, how would you make it the clip shaped like binoculars. Like the clip being shaded black on the edges.
lol *whispers* im stealing your ideas *whispers*
Hey eric I don't know if it's too late for asking questions on Q and Eric for this week, but would you guys know a cheap easy way I could get or make a soft light attachment or something on the light set you showed us how to make, or if there is a cheap kit I could find for a soft light, light. and I think that is what it is called for giving people that very SOFT look to their skin. so yeah...
