You need to work on your green screen setup. Perhaps a bit less light on the subject, because the in first part when he is spinning in the chair, you can see green as well as parts of the chair going in and out. Also in the end ("in three months") he holds up three fingers and they look webbed. Perhaps sharper lights on the subject, softer on the background, so you get those crisp edges around the fingers and chair holes.

isnt the bloody omaha technique the same one they use for the star wars movies during the clonetrooper marches

  • jediknight1234 wrote on March 21, 8:56 am

actually a lot of the stormtrooper/clonetroopers scenes were computer generated

You don't need to use a green screen to make the soldiers pass over each other...just some very careful and annoying masking. It's a matter of going frame by frame when the characters are over lapping, which is annoying, but if they only pass over each other briefly, then it's not so bad. It will also save on setting up, lighting and keying a green screen.

Not sure about other programs, but in After Effects you can also feather the mask to make the edge soft, so it doesn't look as fake...this will work really well if the soldiers are far from the camera.
