Erik, You like "juno" but put down "Ratatouille"? "Ratatouille" had far more "life-like" characters.

The Syphilis must be softening your brain.

hahha really, it was an awesome movie! I'd see it 10 times or more if I could.

Was that videocopilot's evolution used in the intro? lol

  • Kevin Mosley (anon) wrote on February 21, 3:30 pm

I think that this my favorite thing that I have ever seen from Indy Mogul thus far. It had the whole Film Fights vibe but then it went way over the top when David came out of nowhere and made it amazingly sunny and funny.

I also loved the comedy in this one. Justin plays it straight (Daddy) and you guys continued to goof off and even included Seger on the Ellen Page Kinky talk.

  • sgt.stealth wrote on February 21, 3:52 pm

i think steve was hitting the red bull a little too hard...

like a smidgeon and 500tads too hard

  • New Spark Films wrote in reply on February 21, 4:49 pm

I think Diving Bell and the Butterfly deserves a lot more than 3.8, I'd give it a 4.8 at least. I guess you did miss the firt 20 minutes which in my opinion contained most of the strongest directing bits.

  • steve nelson wrote in reply on February 21, 4:59 pm

Yea, in hindsight...I DO regret that low rating. But I had JUST seen the movie. Like literally...watched it...ate lunch...and then shot this review. I thought it was a great film and I would love to see the whole thing again as soon as today!

  • M3n747 (anon) wrote on February 21, 5:47 pm

Hey, Dave looks a bit like my boss. :D

  • CMoney356 wrote on February 21, 6:22 pm

wow I can't believe you steve. not even 4 for diving bell? that was a fantastic film (and yes, julian schabel is from the US) but you obviously didn't "get it" and if you need me to help you "get it" (which really isnt that difficult) let me know...num nuts

  • steve nelson wrote in reply on February 22, 12:44 am

I obviously didn't "get it", huh? Well, you obviously didn't read the comment I had made prior to this. I enjoyed the movie and said...in hindsight that it deserved a better rating, get over it. "Get it"?

  • moviemansam89 wrote on February 21, 7:56 pm

DON'T KNOW IF YOU'LL LIKE IT ORE NOT BUT YOU SHOULD CHECK OUT THIS INDE. FILM "PRIMER" (UNLESS YOU'VE ALREADY SEEN IT!" OH BUT NOT STEVE IT'LL BREAK HIS BRAIN.

  • maguilla wrote on February 22, 1:44 am

Ra-ta-toui-lle B-L-OWS, not animation wise but overall wise.

  • Flamingo With A Spoon Productions wrote on February 22, 12:36 pm

What's with loads if people tsking the piss out of Steve? He's already said he regretted giving it a low rating, which wasn't even that low. The Bob Dylan biography looks great though.

Ratatouille is awesome it's like Apocolypse now bu animated in CGI with rodents, set in a kitchen, with a different plot and different characters.

  • iggy (anon) wrote on February 22, 3:10 pm

    you all drinking :D

  • Wraith 5 wrote on February 22, 3:58 pm

By order of the inquisition of the spirit of indymogul, I have been sent a vision to tell you all that steve must not be harmed, physically or mentally, for he is the only one who can halt the devastating invasion of Potato salad upon this world.

The vision also told me that both Ratatouille and Diving bell are equally awesome, and that Steve was most likely distracted from this conclusion by marauding parties of the before-mentioned salad.

Great stuff guys! I too saw 'Juno' (twice!) and loved it (twice!) and I almost saw 'Once' but I went for the late show and there wasn't a late show.

  • Turbocam2008 wrote on February 24, 5:16 pm

for the next Q and Erik can you tell us how you make you links and names that appear when you go "bing" Please and Thank you

  • LanoosefromGDCB (anon) wrote on February 25, 9:29 pm

    Dear Erik,
I am a huge fan of the show and find it very useful. Indy Mogul is THE place for indpendent film making.
I would just like to ask if you plan on having any contests for user-submitted films. Pumpkin Carving contests and things like that are neat and all. But I just think it would be more practical to hold a contest for user productions (This is INDY MOGUL after all!) A winning film seems more fitting for a mega movie prize than a jackolantern.
    Thanks for your time,
    Lanoose
