About that "using liquid latex to put your actors face onto a stunt dummy" you could probably use the alginate to mold their face (if erik does that kinda thing) and use the liquid latex...or something flexible (aka NOT WAX or RESIN) with the mold. And if you are willing to pay a bit more, go out and buy some silicone. Its not horribly expensive (but its still like $60 for like a 36-48 oz barrel [give or take]) Another drawback is that its HORRIBLY messy. As someone once put it, "it will drip like a 5-year old's nose". But it can capture detail in an object that goes even beyond what the human eye can see, i.e. it'll be a super detailed face. Also, the silicone is reusable and pretty durable. Just my 5 cents.
