  • Aspiring-screenwriter-pat wrote in reply on December 23, 10:42 am

No, other people don't like it. Here are the main reasons why:
    1. They just don't like the fantasy genre/ too much fantasy for them.
    2. Short attention span
    3. Some stupid superficial reason like its different from the books, they think the characters are all ugly, they hate Orlando Bloom.

  • Aspiring-screenwriter-pat wrote in reply on December 23, 10:51 am

What is it with people and getting all mad because movies are different from the books they're based on. Of course they're different, that doesn't automatically result in a bad plot, one dimensional characters, bad acting, or crummy visuals.

I Robot wasn't even remotely the same as the book, I still found it entertaining.

Meanwhile I've heard The Golden Compass was very true to the book (a reader claimed it was exactly how she'd pictured it), yet it was miserable.

    My Top 5 of 2007
    1. There Will Be Blood - haven't even seen it yet but i know it will be that good.
    2. Lars and the Real Girl - ryan gosling deserves every award for his performance
    3. Before the Devil Knows You're Dead - intense, perfectly acted, and with volumes to say
    4. Once - pure indie perfection
    5. The Darjeeling Limited - Wes Anderson = genius every time

Top 2 Most Overrated of 2007
    1. No Country For Old Men - pointless, pretentious garbage people love only because critics tell them it's art
    2. Superbad - not a bad movie, but only funny once (Knocked Up was a million times better)

  • thebaloob123 (guest) wrote in reply on April 5, 12:39 pm

No Country is art...There Will Be Blood was okay but no oscar material, the only good part was the acting the direction sucked, the story needed work, and it was too long, I like long movie (The Godfather for example) but the movie waen't good enought to be 3+ hours.

  • Black Dawn Productions wrote on December 23, 12:45 am

Sweeney Todd is the best movie I've seen all year. Amazing!

  • Aspiring-screenwriter-pat wrote on December 23, 10:23 am

Dude the first Scary movie was hilarious, in fact the only one that was really horrible was the second one.

I am Legend was pretty good, although I have a in explicable feeling you guys wont like it.

The Golden Compass sucked, you're better off spending your ten dollars on another special effect build.

  • Aspiring-screenwriter-pat wrote on December 23, 10:37 am

Mad props, Grindhouse is on my top five. In fact I think its my number one. To bad it bombed at the box office, I hope the dvd sales are making up for it. I'd love to see Don't and Thanksgiving in Grindhouse II.

  • Aspiring-screenwriter-pat wrote on December 23, 10:45 am

Ok I need to stop criticizing everyone and put down my top five, feel free to take pot shots at them I don't mind some disagreement.

    1. Grindhouse
    2. Transformers
    3. Hot Fuzz
    4. Superbad
    5. I Am Legend

You know I think I've only seen seven movies this year. Oh well I liked five of them.

  • Aspiring-screenwriter-pat wrote on December 23, 11:01 am

What's with Cloverfield? I'm a little skeptical about a film which there's virtually no information about.

And what was with the knew trailer, there was this decontamination shower, is there supposed to be some virus element with this thing? Is there more then one monster?

I have a feeling that no matter what the monster turns out to be, we'll be extremely disappointed.

  • lowbudgetblockbuster22 wrote in reply on December 23, 12:45 pm

Well, I can answer some of those questions
    SPOILERS!!!!!!

    1. There is a virus that happens through this drink called slusho.

    2. There are more then one monster but they are not against each other.

I for one think this movie will kill in the box office and I am really excited for it! To read the whole synopsis then go to www.1-18-08news.com and go to the link on one of the sections.

Then what was that thing about "we've got a bite!"?

  • kitzman wrote on December 23, 3:15 pm

  • matt (anon) wrote on December 23, 4:39 pm

    i have a question
on sony vegas 8.0 how do you change the video format so it can be uploaded on youtube

  • phish wrote in reply on December 23, 6:36 pm

No Country For Old Men was awesome... Amazing characterization, lighting, directing, dialogue, and cinematography...

Neilio, maybe if you actually watched the movie instead of saw the movie you would like it better... I heard it was pretty good going into it, and that was all. When I left I was awestruck... I had no preconcieved notions that it was art before I saw it...

i did, in fact like ratatouille.

  • ialexmac wrote on January 6, 6:43 am

A bit late so i dont deserve to even say it, but HEY! How on earth anyone who wants to see Golden Compass can dissmiss Ratatouille is ridiculous. That makes me never want to watch the show again...but then id never learn anything so i guess, oh well. But still, Ratatouille was the best film last year, Golden Compass can suck piss.

  • ialexmac wrote in reply on January 13, 4:57 pm

And ALSO!! How can someone mock Ratatouille, when they thought the Simpsons Movie was one of the best films of the year! Madness, it was fucking DIRE! 18 years too late, and considering i have an interview somewhere with Groening saying he'd never do one, it wouldnt work bla bla, it makes it utterly preposterous! Thanks again tho.x ;)

  • RainbowRyderRecordings wrote on February 6, 6:51 pm

I loved Transformers, I loved the Simpsons Movie and I love Walk Hard. All great movies. I don't know why everybody within the business seems to hate Transformers so much. I thought it was great.
