Wesley's Weekly HOW TO: Gun Arm
This week, I am going to do a tutorial on how to make a Cannon arm, you guys requested it, so i'm going to see what I can come up with.

For this build, I am going route very similar to the one Erik took for the Chainsaw-Arm build, in that i'm going to start with a large empty plastic jug, and modify it to look more like a wrist mounted gun. I started with a large bleach bottle, but really, you could go with any large plastic bottle to get started.

I cut out a segment using a box cutter, that was larger enough to fit my hand in.

Next, I found a large cup, that is going to act as the wrist coupling for the gun.

That I glued into the larged bottle like this, I would be careful using hot glue on this, because it could melt or warp the plastic in it, so super glue, or epoxy could be decent replacements.

Then cut an additional hole in the bottom of the larger bottle.

Next, glue a colored "focus ring" onto the end of it. I build this one almost identically to the "lens" I built for my Night Vision Goggle build, so reference back to it for some extra instructions. To turn the flashlight on and off, cut a hole into the bottom of the cup, and reach in and turn it on and off, OR, cut a tiny panel into the side of the jug, and flip it up and just reach inside.

Now for the handle, for something to hold on to within the "wrist coupling". I got a little cardboard tube, but you could use a piece of wood, or whatever, and put glue on the end of the tube.

Then I just stuck it inside of the coupling, so I could easily hold it.

Now I sealed the foam cup with a layer of acrylic paint, so I can...

Spraypaint the entire thing, with a layer of spray paint. I did a thin layer of "Fusion" plastic spray paint (brown was the only color I had), then I did an overcoat of silver, and another coat of black.

After I paint it black, I did the final touches, I did some smudges and scratches on it to make it look kind of dirty and old, and I stenciled some markings on the side, and printed out a high voltage symbol and glued it to the side.

Here is the Voltage symbol I used, you could easily use this copy, or just go and find another warning symbol to stick on it.
Depending on the KIND of look you want, you could easily go to Anime or Video games for reference one this, or to real world military equipment to try to make it look even more realistic, or you could even possibly get some fake bullets and make a bullet belt to hang off the side if you wanted a projectile weapon instead of a laser weapon.
