What drew me to this video was the simplicity of the backgrounds mixed in with the dazzling complexity of the pieces moving around. It's got this Ren & Stimpy-esque thing going on. I keep watching the scene where the hand is moving back and forth with that great motion blur to determine if this was all done in After Effects, or just as a cutout of some kind. Regardless, it's a cool video!

Oh, the whole clip was done using cutouts shot in real-time... we rarely use animation unless it's easier than contructing a specialised mechanism for a card puppet. This one was actually shot a few years ago, but I only completed it on the editing suite a few weeks ago. Our technique it much more refined nowadays (check out other examples of our work at offplanetfilms.com) "Albino Santa Cop" and "Wolf Boy" are good examples of our latest work using the cutout puppets.
