I always wanted to have the ability to fly. man-oh-man, if I only had a jetpack when I was a wee lad. That would've saved years of heartbreak and psychological damage. There was a brief stint of time at around the age of 5, that I wanted to be a career astronaut. I thought for sure I had an instant “IN”, cause my dad was a programmer for Hughes Aircraft Co., a division of NASA.

Those dreams laid to rest, unfortunately, as my dad told me, “Son, you can't be an Astronaut. You've got FLAT FEET.” I glanced down to my tiny FLAT 5 year old feet.
Sigh.
Now let's get moving right back on track with the topic of Jetpacks, shall we? Jetpacks would've solved everything. (BTW, check out Erik's tutorial and episode about Making A Jet-Pack!) I got the biggest Girl Boner ever when Disney's modern epic, The Rocketeer, came out!

This film has a million and one reasons as to why it's perfect in every way. It wasn't just the Special FX! It was the soundtrack; it was the cinematography; it was a period piece! A guy whose helmet looks like a bullet, has the most Bad Ass Jetpack EVER, gets to beat up Hitler and Destroy a Zeppelin?!?
Did I mention Jennifer “Hi, I'm fine and I was in Labyrinth, Career Opportunities AND Requiem for a Dream B*tches!” Connolly was also in Rocketeer?
This movie will indeed make it's Bed on the Time-Mattress of History and future generations will undoubtedly bow down to the Awesome Power of this film's Jet Packery!!! Although, prolly by then, future generations wil probably look upon Jet Packing and scoff equally as hard as we do looking upon Hot-Air Ballooning now.
For the record: I still have FLAT feet and occasionally still sometimes dream of attending Space Camp.
