WestHavenBrook's Feature: Production Day 1
Our friends WestHavenBrook have begun production on their first feature length film. The film is being directed by John Soares, whole you'll remember from the Stunt Fight episode.
They are going to try to record the production with semi-regular updates, and I think a lot can be learned by seeing how some of our DIY filmmaking friends are able to accomplish their production.

wes, do you happen to know where they got their dolly or how they built it?
It looks like they build a PVC rail, and just had special bottoms attached to the bottom of the tripod to get sliding shots.
WestHavenBrook are the best. I'm definitely going to buy that movie when it's released. Their Tyrants of Nazca series is amazing, and obviously they have Sockbaby and ATVACUUM as well. Their stuff is great.
You are pretty much right on the dolly, Wes. The track is made of PVC that you can get from the hardware store and is infinitely extendable based on how much PVC pipe you are able to purchase and transport. It snaps together in about one minute. The dolly itself was actually purchased a while back by Ben, but it was made from metal and skateboard wheels.
