Impressive, though some of those shots look like they were a nightmare to key and track. Plus they seemed to have access to motion control camera systems, which is a little expensive for hobbyists.

Awsome That was sweet Three guys did the acting, of thousands, I new it was done, but look at the outcome.

Thats pretty cool. I bet if you looked for reenactors you could do a civil or revelutionary war film for even cheaper (there's WWII reenactors too but its easier to find the civil war ones)

On the Saving Private Ryan special features, Spielberg talked about how he made explosions in a WW2 super 8 film he did as a kid... just put a pile of flour on the end of a plank, rest it on top of a wedge so it becomes like a teeter-totter... as the soldier runs past... he stomps on one side, sending a cloud of flour up into the air, as he falls down dead... add an explosion sound in post. from a distance it looks great.

Very inspirational indeed. Although it was on a BBC budget, similar scale scenes can be recreated with a little imagination at a much lower budget. Great find.

Well really, they made it on a BBC budget for the program 'Bloody Omaha' - a documentary about D-Day which featured a lot of the clips these guys made. Still, it's a great inspiration to other Mogulers!
