Roger Avary to Use RED Camera

While reading AICN (I know, I know) earlier, I stumbled across a tasty bit of information that should be exciting to at least a few of you. Roger Avary, the Hollywood mainstay often associated with Tarantino's earlier works, let slip that he is working on a small side project that will utilize a RED ONE camera.
While the project itself may or may not be interesting, the presence of a RED ONE camera certainly is. For those of you unfamiliar with the ONE, here is a quick synopsis. RED was founded by the creators of Oakley sunglasses. Its first camera, the ONE, is an ultra high definition rig with a 12-megapixel sensor capable of recording at 60fps. This is in stark contrast to the 2.1-megapixel, 30fps standard currently found of most cameras.
The other major kicker here is the fact that the camera is available for $17,500. A ton of money for a regular consumer, but relatively affordable for a film with a basic budget.
You can find videos shot with the RED ONE on its website. I'm rather interested to see what happens when these things break into movie theaters.
