im trying to consider if i should make it scince i came back from camp with 0 in my account but i need the exact measurement for the foam and everything else. i know that above there is the exact form of all the shapes but i need the measurements of the peices in detail. can someone help me with this one? I would prefer if someone who knows most about building it and has experience to help.

Alright, I just tried to make it using your template and someone's measurements and the template sucks!!!! please post the motherf***ing measurements. you should have written them down for future references. Seriously, everybody is asking. why cant you answer???!!!!

what are the muserments?

If any of you guys need measurements, copy and paste the template to word, then print it out.  Since the body of a real 30 cal is 14.24 inches (361.96 milemeters), measure the length of the body with your ruler, divide 14.24 (or 361.96 depending) by the number you found.  This number is your ratio.  Then measure any length on the template and multiply it by your ratio.  Hope this helps yall!

guys, this is absofuckinlutely easy to make ;) and in Europe, you can do it for only 20 euro! :D

for people who need a measurement:
the reciever is 12 in long, 3.5 in thick, 5 in tall
the foam is about .5 in thick
that will help you build most of the basic pieces
but for the more precise measurements:
copy the diagram into microsoft word, expand it to full size with tight as the wrapping, print it out, measure each measure ment on the printout, round it to the nearest 1/8th of an inch, multiply it by 2 and add 1/4th of an inch.
its not exact but its close enough

how hard is it to listen to all the people who are askingfor a larger template, or at least some dimensions! i think i speak for everyone when i say just post the measurements or a larger template!

OK, built my own using your design as a basis.  Extended the internal barrel into a PVC handle to add a bit of stability.  Then I just sort of upsized everything.  It's a monster.  Here is a video I shot of it.  It's about 53" long now...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LSOcC1qKZY

Oh! I posted this in the forums but... One thing that works even better for a realisti looking .30 cal tripod is one of those nerf machine gun tripods. You can easily buy one off eBay or even borrow one from a friend. I just though I'd add that.

I know the pictures must be from some collectors site, but I wonder if anyone else noticed the amo-box is mounted backwards? They've got the hinge end towards the body of the gun. The only way you could engage the amo-chain in this configuration is if the box was mounted with the lid latch facing the body of the gun, otherwise the lid would cover the gun making loading it impossible.

okay look, we can see in the video he has some sort of bluprint he's workin with, is it really that hard to scan it and put it up here, the layouts were promised on monday to be here, and it's now thursday and well still no sign of 'em i nderstand there's a comment with the measurements but i still need the pictures to make templates and stuff to cut hings out. the gun look's simple but with all the cuts and bends it's hard to do it without any picture guides

length 36in total,box body 12in,barell 24in,box hight 4in give or take,width figure 3 to 3 1/2in due to outside barrell i did mine with wood and so far it looks great. hope this help.

If possible, you guys should make a printable layout for the pieces so we can print and cut it out from paper and then trace the paper on the foam.

Thank god! I was about to build one from guess and check! I can't wait for this. I'm going to assume the build involves two sizes of PVC, Spray paint, wood, misc. plastic bits, misc. hardware, and some other stuff. YEs!!!
