Dude, the bills have Eric's face inside of Ben Franklin's. It says "BFX Reserve Note" and "In Fake We Trust" and on top of that it's too small and the numbers are in the wrong place. Anyone who mistakes this for real money in person deserves to be cheated.

technically this isn't US currency

The legal stuff is important, because it's so hard to make small, independent films from inside a prison.  A guy got busted for counterfeiting because he made some cotton boxer shorts, with real-sized, one-sided, lime green C-notes silkscreened onto them.  He didn't end up in jail but all of the skivvies were confiscated, he lost all of the money he'd spent, plus he paid a hefty fine.  Believe me and my personal experiences, the government has a whole department full of people with nothing better to do than track this kind of thing down and make an example of the people doing it.

This doesn't actually look much like a 100 bill. This is based more on like 1800 style civil war era notes. compare it with the real one. these aren't realistic at all. Just sayin'

you realize that just because they are similar to US currency doesnt make them US currency. there are entire companies that make prop money so if it was illegal it would stand to reason that these companies would be shut down. the only way your going to get arrested is if you try to put these into circulation.
Title 18 Part 1 Chapter 113 Section 2320 of the United States Code(say that 5 times fast) Specifically states that you must try to "traffic" the counterfeited goods. or the counterfeit must be indistinguishable from the real item. Ergo as long as you keep the money for personal use and clearly print that it is a "COPY" or "SPECIMEN" you are within the law.

How is this a terrible build? It's used so often in films it's amazing BFX never did it before - just cos it's not so technical doesn't mean it's bad.
