Indy Mogul
Indy Mogul Week in Review
We've gotten a lot of submissions this week, with the majority of them regarding Bobbie's continued courting of Spike Jonze (Jones?) concerning his great movie, Tub, premiering at Sundance. So, we'll focus on the other submissions. We'll come back to Bobby and Spike later. Again, the over-arching theme of many of these submissions is violence, but we also have violence with kids, more violence, a Russian boy, an homage to the old Spy vs. Spy comics, a bit more violence, and finally my favorite opening to a high school news show EVER. Editors note: the author of this post has only seen one high school news show
On to the Videos... This first one concerns a boy just shooting his gun. Not much more to it. Oh, and it's not real. Thanks Victor Huink.
Our second one is a little more technically savvy, as we have a gun that has been turned into a flamethrower; although, the emanating flames seem a considerable distance from the gun. We still appreciate the effort Mike Hagerty.
Anyone that has a girlfriend (crickets chirping) knows they love the movie 300 (abdominal muscles for miles). Well this effect has an uncanny resemblence to the visual and audio from the 300 movie. Many props to studidboyzstudio (we really hope this doesn't mean Stu did boyz).
These next two videos from Stephen are always fun. You might remember them from our 10 second promo round up. When you combine adorable kids with plastic arsenals, then you have fun for the whole family. We're not sure if this is encouraged at PTA meetings, but we certainly like these videos, so keep them coming Stephen.
This is the story of a father and son (that look to be about the same age), who love Celine Dion and stickball. The father dies, but then rises from the grave. This was scored well, but Robbie, try and add something besides the pipe so we know who the father is.
This is awesome. There's a mysterious flying orb with some unknown power, villans looking to take it, hand to hand combat from Kung Fu masters to protect it, and it's all to save the universe. Great job from Ruben Mendoza.
This is a quick little clip of what appears to be an energy ball. I'm not sure if Billy is controlling pure energy like that creepy Powder movie, but if not, write in the comments and tell our readers what you were doing.
This is a very cool video submitted by Kenny Tarr. It's based off the old Mad Magazine Spy vs. Spy comics by Alfredo Prohias. The femme fatale plays both spies off each other to get rich. I would try to sync the voices with the animation a little better, but that's nitpicking.
We end our violent videos, with this masterpiece. Just watch as Josh DePew blows up his little brother. awww. The best part is they slow it down, and it still looks great. Tell us how you did it in the comments.
This is the High School News introduction I mentioned in the opening. Very cool. It might have actually gotten me to homeroom when I was in high school. Great job Kevan.
