A friend's film needs your backing!
Hey guys, so our friend Matt shot a feature in 2008 on a very indie budget (check out the trailer above), out in the woods, with a whole bunch of talented people. You may remember him, we snagged a great interview when we were at Sundance. I was lucky enough to see an early cut of the film, and it's interesting and beautiful - I'm excited to see the final version ... but if he doesn't raise enough money it may never see the light of day.
Here's more info from the man himself ...
-
"As you may or may not know, I've been working to complete my first
feature film (http://vimeo.com/6155508 - http://vimeo.com/6155895) for
just over a year now. - I shot, produced and financed it 100%
independently with the help of a bunch of fantastic friends last
summer. Unfortunately this bummer of an economy has seriously derailed
our post-production process and we've been unable to properly complete
the film without any outside support.
"Back in August I hooked up with this new website Kickstarter
(http://www.kickstarter.com/learn-more) in an effort to try and
finally finish the film. - Kickstarter's basic philosophy is that
unless you have a rich uncle or a real job, it may be be easier to
fund small creative projects by seeking a diversity of small donations
from a wide group of regular people as opposed to a few big ones from
a select group of suits.
"We've been doing our best to spread the word, but time is running out
quickly. If we don't reach our goal by 3AM on Halloween we loose out
on everything and all hope is lost forever - that's the way
Kickstarter gets down. - We've got less than a week to do this thing
right.
"We need your help to spread the word. - Do you blog? Tweet? Facebook?
Etc.? - Maybe you could post this link somewhere.
- We'd really appreciate it.
"And if you're feeling especially friendly, perhaps you'd be willing to
forgo a latte and throw some loose change our way. - We know times are
crazy tough, but we're not asking for much - just a little bit from a
bunch of people, that's the beauty of the whole thing! - Nothing
serious.
"A whole host of info on the project, as well as an outline of how we
intend to actually finish the film can be found here:
- If you've got a free minute, please check it out.
Thanks so much for your time.
All the best,
Matthew Lessner (and co)
