FIRST!
That test film was 300 times better than all of erik beck's test films! ha!
.... um noo
nice
That was a great test film!
And same as the "disappearing" extra a few weeks back, you should set your exposure and focus to manual, rather than auto when you shoot this.
A variation I've used is to pan from one person on the left to that same person on the right, by cutting in the middle of the pan.
I use it right near the end of this video:

movies(sorry my anglish is bad)
Cool video. I'll have to see if I can dig my clone video out from an ancient hard drive and post it somewhere. :)
That was an awesome weekend extra. Make that Steve Nelson movie. That will probably be really good.
you can make one go behind the other by using masks, i like Adobe After Effects to do that. The Test Film was very good ;)
Hey guys, thanks for the kind words, you all made my day! ELKLE, I used soundtrack to arrange that song!
PEACE!
Thats the best test film so far. But is there a way to make them intersect? And what if the subject is moving through an area?
here is a little cone flick my friend and i made, it's not all tha good but you can check it out if you want.

AWESOME JOB CUZ!!
LOVE U
weee!
can you do the cloning effect and greenscreen at the same time?
hey steve ,shave your head and you can replace michael rosenbaum on smallville after he leaves.
I WILL BE YOUR FRIEND!!!
A tip on cloning-If you're moving around a lot Don't step in front of your lite source or one clip will get different lighting than the other and it won't look good and will be hard to fix
Thanks for the great tips!

Man you guys are brilliant
nice camera.
Awesome tip Swashbuckle! And to answer pete359's question, I believe it was a Sony V1U. It not mine though, haha.
I see that your using final cut to do this
i dont have mac and i ve heard you can do this with adobe premiere so i downloaded but i cant figure it out
can you help me or suggest a different program to do this with cuz its awesome!
I want to know, too
Pretty cool guys, can you do an episode where you cloan yourself 100 hundred times to make the Steve Nelson Army?
they should so make that a movie id watch it
Really loved this. Tried it out using Final Cut Pro, but I'm kinda stuck. When I split the clip and move one part into a new video layer, somehow it turns brighter than the original clip. What causes this? Any solutions?
Again, amazing!
what editing program did u use to do that amazing effect?
that was a good vid. do you use final cut express for that?
steadicam operator located in spain.
I use Windows Movie Maker, can I do any of those? (I also use Wax, but can't upload videos on it (wrong file type). :'(...
i'm sorry, but you can't do it with windows movie maker. i tried, read all the Help! things, and have watched enought tutorials to "make my brain want to eat itself(*Eric*)!"
You can't do shit with Windows Movie Maker.
Stop being cheap or poor and just buy a new Mac.
What Program you using?
it was impressive when i watched Ryan Wieber (www.ryan-w.com) do that effect. But, this clip is the funniest one ive seen yet... Way 2 go, Steve!! Woo!! Steve Nelson: The Movie is the BEST movie of ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!** i think you should make a short film based off that test clip.
seriously, that looked amazing. there was no way of telling that was faked
i started using that today and it is awesome and so easy
took a min to get good lighting but after that simple! amesomeness
"in a world where everyone is steve nelson"
hey i dont know wat i need to edit my videos plus i need a cheap good working computer catible video camera please reply with e-mail
ps: i would like u not too post this because its a little pesonal please reply
I know this is an old episode but i think it might be relevant (i'll also put it in you latest episode on dialogue):
When it comes to doing the cloning effect I have to trouble, It's the Damn Dialogue! What I mean is HOW do you work out the Timing from between the two of you? I realize that you did quite a few cuts in the scenes. But, is there truly a way or technique to sinc up both your characters dialogue so they don't cross over each other? PLease help! I'm desperate! :P
rock on
In case someone has a friend who looks similarly proportioned, they could fake yet another faceless clone in the same shot with the original to make some clones actually cross paths besides the masked ones. You could also use a composited head but that takes a program like After Effects and much hard work to make it seamless.
