'The Blind Side' Movie Review

You're kidding me right?  This was only the second movie of the year to get an A+ on Cinemascore.

Yeah, that comment did make me a little sad, but I understand that there's a lot of misconceptions about the South.  I have friends who moved to Georgia from Baltimore, MD and until they got here, they honestly believed that they would be arriving to find the Beverly Hillbillies.  They were completely shocked to find that we were normal people, living in normal houses, shopping at normal stores, etc.  There /is/ a lot of prejudice in the South, but there's a lot up North as well (especially toward Southerners).  I think the difference is, prejudice has been out in the open in the South for 100+ years; and even though there's not near as much prejudice as is attributed to the southern states, because the South is known for it, we'll always get the blame.

your  amazed that it happend  in the south, did you see the movie radio? filmed in the south.about a black man. i know we are all busy hanging people of color and repubicians, i have more black friends than most in the north, but" we still be de ole south". and to the other comment " a group of terrorists that live there" what group would that be..look out west there are quite a few "groups" as you call them there.i would dare say you will see more groups in new york city. Grace has had her time and its time she bowed out. she pretty much tells them what to vote and i see the same people several times.. but i could be wrong..i lost my rose colored glasses last week

Yowzerz guy.  She may be misinformed upon the current state of racial affairs in the south, but to level the claim of racist for the one line, '...and this all happened in the south, which I find the most amazing part of the story...', seems to be quite ridiculous to me.

I agree with you that people need to stop generalizing and possibly proliferating the view that any given area or peoples are intolerant; just like I hope you would agree with me that people need to stop looking for racists around every corner.  

I'm not saying that prejudice doesn't exist, the truly bad people will show themselves for who they are, but I've found that this red tape of political correctness and the fear of offense does more harm than help to free speech.

Now, I noticed you said that she managed to slam the south AGAIN, so maybe there is something I'm missing, but seriously, it's not fun to be called a racist.

thanks grace you managed to slam the south again..perhaps a road trip to dixie might opened your eyes..having living in other parts of our country i see far more tolerance  between the races in the south than say new york. the only cross you will see is the one people wear around their necks and the only hate shown is when clemson gets beat by south carolina..humm have you been reading our sports pages and thinking it was civil war all over again.. wake up dearie we live in harmony than you think..to see a racists you may have to stand on south soil and look in a mirror.
