it seems the only thing it takes to get your film noticed by the Oscars anymore is to just make audiences squirm or try and make them feel bad for living comfortable lives. I enjoy seeing independent movies make it into the big leagues, but I'm tired of everyone acting like its standing above the crowd to make a movie that makes people sad. you're really just standing with a different crowd.
