'GI Joe' Movie Review

gi-joe is awsome but with cameos from brendan fraser and another actor from the mummy it shows that the director is a little choosey with his actors. B+

I can honestly say that I really wanted to see this movie, actually my must see for this year, and I knew that it was a 50/50 chance that I would like it.  

Having said that, the movie SUCKED!  As a huge fan of the franchise (Comics, Toys) as a kid, they twisted the Joe Universe created by Marvel comics into a sham.  Accelerator Suits... Get real!  Joe didn't need it twenty years ago, and he still doesn't.  Guess they wanted to make a more human Transformers movie... Hell that one was more realistic...

Hasbro totally sold out.

One word review. Terrible. The special effects and action were very well composited and everything but to me that gave it a surreal feeling. Also the way that girl went into every fight and came out with her hair and makeup perfect and didn't seem winded at all bothered the crap out of me. Also when they find the control room in the underwater base and automatically know everything about the system, whats up with that? They could've sold it to me if they added a few more of those nuances of confusion and chaos. Or at least made the soldiers "try" to do things instead of just "doing." Also for someone who has never been into GI Joe (meaning I dont know anything about them) I couldn't really grasp the plot of the story. Let me rephrase I didn't believe the plot of the story.

Two hot chicks in tight outfits kick each other through plate glass windows causing me to become distinctly aroused.

Your average simple, basic, unreal, explosions, murdering without care to beat the bad guy, unoriginal, but basic entertainment film if you're bored. 4/10

Wow this movie was bad, acting was horrible and special effects although great in some spots were completely embarrassing in others. 4 out of 10

Give that Milo kid his own show--he's awesome.

Go find and watch the old cheesy, campy, cliched GI Joe cartoons from the 80's. For most of us who were children during this time and have fond memories of GI Joe, revisiting the past may come as a shock. Nostalgia is a cruel, criminal sex offender left babysitting our childhood memories. If you're anything like me, while revisiting the GI Joe cartoons, you'll probably be wondering "WTF is this? Was I really entertained by this? It's so cheesy and the dialogue is hilarious. Poop....another childhood memory shattered. Damn, just like Thunder Cats, I remember this being better as a kid." 

Alright, now that you've been exposed to what the old cartoons had to offer, I want you to use your imagination:

Recall those cartoons in your mind, then add Hollywood's standard "Michael Bay-Template"(cut all story/character development down the least required to still have a modicum of sense and replace that time with CG explosions).

Tada! It's like you just watched the film!

GI Joe, despite the campieness of the Delta Suits, was a pleasant surprise combining the old and new canon from the summers of my childhood to the newer content of today.

GI Joe is a saturday morning cartoon on steroids.

I'm a HUGE fan of GI Joe and was both very excited and extremely nervous for this film. Having now seen it, I still can't decide which emotion was appropriate. There were a lot of parts and characters I liked (Scarlet and Baroness were both great), but many of the visuals in the film left me dumbfounded (Cobra Commander--Uhg., Destro--Yikes!, Snake-eyes' molded mouth--What the heck?!?!?)

Also, it seemed like some of the CG was rushed. Maybe they ran out of time/money? I don't know. Overall, it was a fun flick, but for hardcore fans some of the changes may be too hard to swallow. 8/10

I will not watch this movie! Because of the trailer, in the trailer there is a line saying that they are making a elite team from people from around the world. This is BS. Everyone knows "GI Joe an All American Hero". All around the world is not American. That huge inconsistency has ruined this movie for me. I will not see this movie and try to prevent others from feeding this Hollywood Crap! Go watch Moon

GI Joe The Rise Of Cobra is a cliched mess that mixes bland characters, unoriginal plot , and poorly staged cartoony fights into a terrible package that banks on its audience having the intelligence of 5 year olds for its own success.

i have to tell the truth, i didnt really want to see it but this episode changed that totally,

This dates me, but I had GI Joes back in the 60's... the Mercury Space Capsule was way cool.
