Bobby's Book Club - February Edition - On Directing Film by David Mamet

Hello Internet friends and welcome to what I hope becomes an ongoing segment here at IndyMogul.com: Bobby's Book Club! I figured now that I'm prepping to make my short film TUB, I would read a few books on directing to get me excited. I also don't read enough! It was a tough choice to figure out what would be the first book in this series, but I decided on....
On Directing Film By David Mamet
If you don't know who David Mamet is, check out his wikipedia page here. He often times is a polarizing figure. Some people love his stuff, others don't. Regardless, I've picked his book for a few reasons:
1. It's short! (And is a good first book to get us into things here.)
2. Tom Kalin recommended it to me a few years in his class. (And Tom is AWESOME.)
3. Love him or hate him, David Mamet is an interesting character. And as we read this, we may not agree with everything he says, which will make the discussion of the book more fun!
So, there you have it. Try to track the book down at your library or buy it used/new on Amazon below.
