You can probably find instructions for straight jackets on eHow. You can get creative and make your own or maybe even buy an authetic or reproduction one from an online auction or a funky antique store. Just use your head a little and be creative and you can do any effect or prop you want.

Well that's quite a flick. I guess it's supposed to be a comedy? Your sound needs work - it has the in-camera mic echo. Needs some music to add suspense. Lighting is off a bit but it being a indie movie, not bad at all. Amazingly, it kept me interested enough to watch the whole thing.

People have been asking for props (movie or videogame related), camera rigs, lighting rigs, Special FX, and many other requests. But I think I have the solution to all that: an update to this website. I think it would make a LOT of people happy to see that the BFX section on this site is divided into different video groups: Camera-Related, Lighting/Sound-Related, Prop-Related, etc, instead of one giant BFX mess. That way people can find what they are looking for with ease, not to mention, less complaints from the community. Hope this helps.

That is really easy (unless you mean an actual real one for a real gun).  Just take a pvc pipe, attach washers to each end, stick another smaller tube through the opening in one end of the washer, glue to gun.

When Erick made sugar glass, that was a good build. When he showed how to mold it into a very real looking bottle, that was a good build. Break away furniture? Also a good tutorial. I just feel like this week has been wasted in BFX. As for making things cheaply, I can't complain as long as it's under a hundred dollars. But I think the most important thing that's been missing lately has been versatility. I would like to see fewer props, fewer costumes, and more versatile things like sets, rigs, and production value goodies. (lights, camera mounts, ect.) Thanks to BFX, I have an extensive knowledge on how to do just about any kind of special effect I could ask for, but I know next to nothing about the advanced use of a camera.

We have been talking about this in the forums as well. When most of us signed up for IM and subbed the youtube channel there were other shows like 4 minute film school and weekend extra that showed us just what you are asking for. But Erik and Justin took IM and sold it to NNN who seemingly cut those shows and now we only have BFX which is great at doing props which is what its has always done.  Some of us are now talking about maybe starting a new show that will again cover those things but so far it is only in the talking about stages. If this is something you would like us to work on then feel free to drop in and let us know what you want to see and what you would like covered.

Truth: Dale is more informative than half the people on here, I still get a kick out of the kid on the other video posting "LOL Dale Burden" on all of his HELPFUL posts. So let me get this straight. Instead of showing us how to make break away glass with cheap materials that are easy to find, you tell us that there is only one place in America to get it and we have to spend more than half our budget to order it. That is going to be really hard to do on a budget of under a hundred dollars. Don't get me wrong it would be great to see this but I doubt they will do it. There is a thing on youtube that is a behind the scenes for a really bad movie called beer drinkers in space that shows them turning a guys living room in to a space ship set. Try looking that up and see what you think.

But to address you first sentence since that is about all that is readable Zack himself said he does not want to do anymore toy builds. I mean video game props. So whine all you want in caps I highly doubt he will devote a month to games when BFX is about film making and not toy making. He, Zack said to try the RPF where they DO make stuff like that. They can be yes but most are not. Remember all the requests for the hidden blade from Ass creed? Go look for any fan film with that prop. I spent well over and hour not long ago just looking for that prop and could not find anything. I'm not saying video game props can't be used. I'm not even saying I would not like to have some of them (wanna see my halo plasma pistol?) but to date they have not been used in anything I can find. 

That said if anyone knows of a game prop made by bfx that was used in a film please post a link as I would love to be wrong on this. Seriously I want all the builds to get used even the ones I personally do not like.

With the apes in the reboot just being smart apes and not the ones like we saw in other films what is there to do that could not be bought with greater detail? I'm not saying they should not make props from the movie but what would be good builds? The mask? How many are going to punch all that hair even if they did have the sculpting skill and mold making and casting skills to make it. I don't think people reaqlize what a hard build this would be. I'm not trying to argue I'm just pointing out some facts. 

LEts face it the face man mask build was kinda iffy at best. That is what you are going to get on the cheap. The canisters that held the gas would be a far better build for the price and labor involved in making it vs a mask
