I cant wait to go on Saturday because its a big event on Aug. 8 they r first  doing a tour and then a flat screen movie of followed by a science fiction film.

you should totally make a working shoe-phone for one of your build episodes. if you do decide to attempt, i recommend not using a rubber souled shoe. it is really messy.

Come on folks - what did you expect to learn from an inside look? A "how-to" on radio control? I can see it happening in "super time lapse"...maybe. Most of the stuff shops like this do is a cross between rocket science and spit-and-baling-wire. Even the simplest stuff would take 4 episodes to cover, and at that, expensive to do (just the moldmaking supplies alone!)for a podcast freebie. It was a fun visit, and always nice to see practicals - it's one of the things you miss when you work in newer digital shops. When I worked at Tippett it was always a hoot to walk past the full-sized ED-209 every morning. We worked with ADI on "Troopers" (the first one, not the subsequent ones) - they produced the full-sized practical bugs.

hrm... disappointing!
I thought the idea of HFX was to give ideas/tips/knowledge to the viewer... it was entertaining, but not very informative at all.  Sorry to be a dick, just my own thoughts bro.

Amazing people and work, but I think the show doesn't do them justice.  Especially as viewers of Indy Mogul, we want to take advantage of the short time we "get" with the pros to *learn* from them.  Even if it's information that we can't possibly apply to indy-budget movies, we want to hear it.

These interviews with profressionals need to be longer or at least or more in depth. Especially with these guys. It was awesome seeing all the animatronic creations they've developed, but sadly its becoming a dieing art with CGI taking over.

Yes, it's fun to see what the pros made, but where are the comparisons?  Early episodes had a critique of indy effects by the pros.

There really isn't anything useful here.  

I was hoping for more in depth footage and interviews.

Keep at it.  Nice effort.

If you notice your suitcase is a little heavy next time you go to one of these places, don't panic it's just me.
