How do you shoot it???? you made the tubes to shoot from, and you made the webs to shoot, but you didnt show how to project the webs from the tubes....

Left out the trigger. and cuts on the test video were a bit too jumpy.  Great looking webs though. I would have used a silver painted piece of Cardboard between the two straps and fixed the tubes to that. but other wise not bad.

Hey Erik, How come you guys stopped doing the other informative shows you used to have? How come 90% of the programming here is now "movie trailers" or"movie reviews"? Your site used to be fun to very informative for me but now we only get minimal DIY episodes. What happened Dude? HAve You noticed The MAjority of responses come from the DIY episodes? Please Erik more Old school Indy Mogul.

i love erik. but with that said. i would totally watch this guy. he's funny.

i very much enjoyed this. he looks like Peter Parker, so its fitting that he did a spiderman episode. his builds are simple and effective. also, i like how he knew that spiderman (the comic book spiderman) didn't actually shoot webs like he does in the movies. that kind of random, geeky knowledge is exactly what this show needs.

SERIOUS HEALTH HAZARD DETECTED!!!
This performer has made use of a PVC pipe for this episodes build, during which he sawed the pipe above a sink - WRONG!
During the sawing of the PVC particles from the pipe fly all over the place, inhaling even small amounts of these particles is TOXIC and is a great cause of CANCER!
This host has not only endangered his health, but is endangering the health of Indy Mogul viewers. I demand that a warning be added to the video regarding the cutting of the PVC
The proper way of cutting PVC pipes: UNDER RUNNING WATER, which prevents the TOXIC particles from spreading through the air.
I will not comment on the host's general performance in this video as he has failed to take basic safety precautions.

I really like this episode, but have to be honest, when I saw it in the forum all I had was the description, and thought it was the same as mine, so I kinda canceled my project.  ITS NOT! Now I will never have the chance to host... oh, well I guess I'll just submit what I have to yourfx.

The video was great and funny.  It was especially helpful for a project im working on right now that needs a rope shooter and this will be a helpful outline for the prop i will need to make.

I liked it a lot. Good balance of humor and seriousness. The test film was great the way it showed one of many possible ways to use the build. I also liked the wheel at the beginning.

i think Dave and Ryan have been the best. They were both funny, but dave's build was more useful, whereas ryans was a lot easier to make. if i had to choose, Ryan deserves it....

I agree with some people about the build, as far as not too many people needing to use web shooters for their films. The spider web part had potential to use for more than just Spider-Man, though. And don't forget Erik has done movie-specific builds as well.

Having said that, this was the first audition episode so far where I said to myself, "I could watch this guy week after week." And that, I think, is the measure of whether or not someone would make a successful host. I haven't liked every build Erik has done, but I still watch him every week, because he's a good host.

This guy's the best.  I liked the way he showed his list of materials.  Plus I thought the whole presentation was fun and interesting.  My favorite was the spider bite - does this look bad? haha

his style is cool, but patrick is also cool.

WTF this guy fails. he tries to be funny but he's not this is BFX not Stand-up comedy that sucks.

Nice effect, but he hasn't explained how to do it on set, just the build. That's kind of poor.

I am sorry but this guy was really crap. He is just a dweeb. He tried too hard and his episode didn't grab my interest. neither did the actually build. He didn't even explain how to film it so you create the illusion of the webs coming out. I don't think this build is practical because I don't think that many people would need to have spider men in their sort films. Like of course there will be some people will want to use this effect but not many people will.

I really like this guy!!!  He had his own style, he wasn't trying to be Eric.  Don't get me wrong, Eric is part of what made BFX great, but his style should stay his style; whenever anybody tries to copy him it falls flat(REally FLat.).  The store was awesome, and I can think of a thousand places to use the spider web.  His test film skills could use some work, but it isn't like he was awful.  Ryan is the best so far, and I hope the new face of BFX.

I don't know, I didn't really care for this guy. Just my opinion though...

I think Ryan did a good job here.  The old time store part was my favorite.   Nice sound and editing throughout.   I do think there are a lot more audition episodes to come, so I won't commit my vote yet :)

I like it!  He gets the idea that you're building things for actual production, rather than just to have a cool prop on a shelf in your bedroom.  Sounds good, good camera work, nice presentation... I give it a solid 9 - it's got a good beat and you can dance to it.

I thought it was awsome! Although it lacked the explosive jokes that blow up in your face, I think it was great. he didn't try hard to be funny, and it was good acting. This video was definitely the best of the three so far.

I definitely enjoyed this one. The web effect looked really good and Ryan's sense of humor was great. His delivery was a little dry, but with more experience I'm sure he can tweek that.
Honestly though, I've liked all three. Would it be completely out of the question to have a few rotating hosts?

Pretty good!  Needs to speak up a bit and the build was kind of simple, but good sense of humor, good test film, and overall enjoyable.

I thought he was good, personality wise, patrick is still my favorite, but this fella had the best build and test film so far

I have to say that Ryan is the best of the three to date.  He doesn't try to over do anything or try to be ultra cool.  And he has a geeky tech thing that works well for him.  The build was simply but quite effective... too bad he couldn't afford the mocap... maybe next time! And, the short video was okay... his material list video was better quality!

I think this guy is really great.  I love the cool and different way he showcased the list of items - split screen? or something...Very clever! Plus love the spidey webs (webisode, haha)

This guy Ryan is funny, I really like him! I feel he is the best candidate for BFX. This audition totally fits the show and I enjoyed it the most.

Ryan has a great sense of humor and sets just the right tone for his audience.  His creativity and presentation are a cut above.  He's a keeper!

Ok I like this guy the most so far. All of them have been good though. The only thing I did not like about the Necronomicon build was it was pretty movie specific but I may still make one using that tut just because I am a huge Bruce fan.

This one was really well done.  Fun and informative.  I liked the host's sense of humor, as well as his production skills.  He's definitely my favorite -- and not just because he's rocking the spidey briefs.  Well, mostly not...

not as good presented as the previous one, but i like this ones effects the best so far...

Hey BFX I got an idea on how to improve the show... whats about some kind of competition?? so you have about 3 people that have to build something the comunity requests and then they have to build it in a timeframe and the one with the best and cheapest result wins... so you have three different ways to build a prop(or something else). Of cause you need about three people to do that but whats about the build-team-members?? What do you think about this idea please comment.

I love this guy!  The test film seriously made me laugh out loud and the video and sound quality was High Quality.  But it was a little difficult to understand what the shop keeper was saying and the Disclaimer at the beginning said Erik Beck and not Ryan Gerossie.

But over all I think Patrick and Ryan are my 2 nominees!
