Hey Indy mogul my name's Vince I'm a film maker I write my own script for movies. I like the way the book came out but there's something missing I have a suggestion since the book is suposed to be made out of human skin to give it a reallistic skin effect try using a coat or two of liquid latex then paint over it. The latex will make it look and kind of feel like human skin. I'll try it to see how it comes out.

i'm an indy mogul fan too, but still i think zack is the best new host, after erik :P

this guy is knocking on the door of a great host for BFX. With just a little more expression in his delivery and a crew to help with light, sound, camera, etc this guy could work out splendidly.

I thought that this guy did great, but I thought that maybe he could have improved the lights and microphone so it can be seen and heard clearer! (But over all this guy is awesome and he has my vote!)

this guy had a good idea for this project and his teaser sounded fun, but honestly I didn't find him all that entertaining. He was just kind of bla... Media is supposed to be entertaining, that's its nature, I don't think the title of "Host" is a good fit for this guy.

Good episode, I like the guys personality and think he has a lot of room for growth he is definately a natural fit I can see why you guys liked this entry

Saw a necronomicon tutorial on Instructables.com, was actually going to upload it as an audition, lol thievery.

He's a realy good host and it was a fun eppisode, but the whole episode  he has a boaring expression on his face.

It looks okay, but when I had to use a necronomican in a movie I made a couple months ago I got the Evil Dead 2 collectors edition that comes in a necronomican book.

We have to realize that this would be a rebirth of BFX, and that it might start out rough.  If you see the first few episodes of the show it looks very amateur (no offense Eric).

Build Was Good But the test film Was great!

i wonder where gary is.i bet he's taken up crack again.

Good energy, nice voice, would make a good host - but, WHY do all of the Build Episodes work so hard at reinventing the wheel?  Duct tape and ModPodj?  What's wrong with a nickle's worth of clay for a proper sculpture,  a dime's worth of plaster of paris for a simple open-face mold, and maybe fifty cents' worth of liquid latex (or anything similar) to cast the finished product, which you then glue to the outside of an old book?  Work smarter-not-harder, folks!

Very good!  My only recommendation would be a better microphone, otherwise he's got charisma, great humor, and knows his stuff.

Great audition...just a little too much Eric Beck'ish.  I think the new host should be unique (but with a little homage to the man - Eric Beck).

The guy is awesome, the episode wasn't great. But I think he would handle.

Intro was a bit drawn out, but still well done.
I wouldn't be upset if this guy became new host.
He seems to have charisma... and he should let it out, some times I wonder if he's holding back from being his true self.
I enjoyed the episode.

I would suggest using maybe some baby powder on book prior to filming, as it looked pretty glossy.
Not sure if there's such a thing as matte modge podge...

that was quite okay! i have a suggestion for BFX, maybe you guys could make an episode about doin´ you own stunts, cuz indy films ussually don´t have the budget to hire expensive stuntdoubles.. 
If there already is an episode about that, then I didn´t just commented this here... (a)

Quite nice, but the many cuts and fades during the super-time-lapse are a bit disturbing if you're trying to follow the exact steps of the build.

I feel almost as if I've watched a genuine BFX Episode. Amazing!

Patrick here guys! THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the amazing response. I was actually a little disappointed in my efforts, I know I could've done much better. Again, thank you for all your positive comments. There's no possible way anyone could ever come close to the amazing Erik Beck, so I'm delightfully surprised by all the positivity so far. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone else's work.

This Bloke was ok! Not quite so sure that he should of introduced the burning bit though as younger one's might not be as carefull. But he was great!!

It was pretty good. I do have a couple suggestions though. One, instead of using tapes for the face, use latex rubber and a face mold and stretch that across the cardboard. Two, for the test film, show us how it works. The idea of selling it wasn't bad, but a demonstration of how it could be used "practically" would be cool too. Other than that, great job.

not bad i still like eric better but he did a good job same style as eric too. bad test film.

I think Patrick did an excellent job... good presence... good sense of humor and very easy to listen too.  Sets the bar high for the rest of the wannabe Erik Beck's out there.  Good luck to you all!

Hes definitely a great host, and the test film was awesome, my only complaints are; paintjob on the book (not a big deal) and where the episode is filmed, its a little messy and claustrophobic. But damn he makes for a good host.

I like this guy. However, I can't help but feel a little manipulated. When I see anything related to Evil Dead, I'm on board. Especially, when it's a prop that was created so ingenuously. I would have liked to see some of the iconic drawings from the movies on the pages, but besides that, great stuff Patrick.

I liked this, Patrick did a great job. He had some humor thrown in there which is always nice, but he was confident. That is extremely important.
