Awesome.Whats with the face rip?
I just realized where I'd heard Tyler Perry before! why did you use the name? It bothers me now every time I see this test film!
I'm lov'n the new format of test films on their own days. It seems like you guys have more time to do more intense test films...and it shows.
Of course my favorite is still the steampunk film...!
That was amazing!!!!!!!
Nice!
Thank you!
woah!!!I like the test film but ripping the guys face off was scary, even for me.But whatever can you do that effet for monday please or is it like two face or something?
It's actually very simple.. What I did was:
1)buy some fake skin and blood gel from your local halloween or party store.
2)knead the fake skin until it is workable and smash it against your actors face.
3)pull open a pocket in the top of the fake skin and drip some fake blood in.
4)re-apply the fake skin on top, sealing the pocket of blood.
5)peel away!
woah!! ripping the guys face off was awesome
Great job guys! But... how did you get the underwater shots?
Indy Mogul actually provided us with an underwater rig for one of our cameras.
Erik, I live in the New York area and would like to help out
Great film guys! It really shows how effective a cheap prop can be. Thanks for the thrill.
That was GREAT! :D
thank you very much sir!! Make sure to subscribe to Immortal Dog at youtube.com/immortaldog .
I loved the last test film but this wase mwa not bad not good
you need more slime on the fishman you could see it was a mask
I miss the old test films, sorry guys, but this one and the other one SUCKS!
Wow!, Really Liked the film and the make-up!
I see you guy's are really Uping your game!
Fantastic!
Also Great Job Guest Directors!
Thank you very much!!! Means a lot to us that you guys dig this so much.. I didn't really know what to expect in terms of feedback.
one of the best test films you guys have made! not only the story and direction, but the camera work and the face tearing effects too. great job.
when is the next episode of Q and eric LIVE i am dyng ibviefvbwqefbiqfudgbiq8wuygfbwdufbwijehgqeygwgunefvnwoytghboeiguru and going insane
I think the face clawing was unnecessary and kind of a cheap thrill, and perhaps more background on the supernatural pool would have been good. Sorry I'm being so picky. Everything else was incredible!
We had to keep it short, so we couldn't get too in depth. But who knows... prequel anyone?!?! :)
poor steve how did you guys make the guy get his face ripped off
Chad can probably answer this one better, but if I remember, I think it was as simple as applying fake skin from a Halloween store to his cheek, but putting some fake blood or blood capsule underneath it. Wasn't much to it if I remember, but it definitely looked great.
I actually just shot a quick video of how I did it.. I'll post it as soon as it's done rendering.
The mask might have been more realistic if it was done in a darker shade of green. That bright stuff looked pretty unnatural. Although for the film it didn't matter because it was in black and white.
Wow jumping into a pool in October, talk about suffering for your art.
Yeah, Steve was a real trooper. Poor guy was blue after we took the mask off.
That was really well done guys. Did you use an effect to make the film jumpy or did you have to do it manually?
The film jump was a combination of two After Effects plugins. The slight twitching the film does throughout is done with Magic Bullet Misfire from Red Giant (as was most of the look of the movie). For the parts simulating the bad film gate at the beginning, end, and during the monster attack, I used a plugin called Twitch from VideoCopilot.net. It's got a nice "Bad Film Gate" preset you can mess around with.
Thanks Wraith!!! And no Dr.Nogood, we actually went with black and white last minute simply because I felt it was already a cheesy video and felt very 50's sci-fi and horrorish, so I proposed the idea of black and white and everyone agreed. We may have a director's cut soon with about 2 extra minutes as well as in color. We will keep you guys posted via the forum.
Yeah, with the director's cut, I'm gonna go for trying to make it look like bad 70's color stock.
um hi
Awesome test film! It was great from what I saw, but it just cut out at the 1:33 point to the symbol that says "Replay". Anyone else?
Looking awesome Immortal dog!
Well that's my halloween costume sorted this year..
"Or perhaps... we were the monsters all along" hahahahaha. Nice. You guys should do a pinhead from Hellraiser FX in this year...
That was really good, but did you use the old film color effect to hide where the skin and make up meets?
cool test flim. What is next's costtume
LOUDER BIRDS!
thanks again guys!
this is my favorite test film!
that was great you guys!
Hey guys, I'm one of the directors of 'Fish Man!' Just wanted to say thanks for all the great comments!!!
pretty awesome.
Sort of had an X-Files vibe to it.
great job!
i liked the underwater shots
Nice test film. Just wondering why it says Gun Arm before you play the video.
that was so cool! Youre so awesome steve! But before you have pressed play on the vid, it says ''gun arm''. Thx for a awesome build, guys!
Um that was Ok but you could have done a little better test film then that. and last weeks wasn't that great eather.
That was awesome guys! It was an honor working with you.
I don't know why that's such a big deal, but...yeah, first comment!!
And, oh yeah, awesome movie. Funny 50's vibe to it. Nice.
FIRST????!!!
um hi
