Does this mean no more test films or BFX at all? Bummer, man.

  • ryan@indymogul.com wrote on December 18, 12:16 pm

no way. BFX and test films are still going strong. They just happen on the first and third mondays of the month instead of every Monday. We did a green screen build and test film this week.

    wooo hooo hobo barrells!!!

  • the hobo films wrote on December 14, 6:55 pm

  • the hobo films wrote on December 14, 6:54 pm

nooo dont get rid of bfx!!!!!

  • ryan@indymogul.com wrote on December 18, 12:16 pm

we're not getting rid of BFX

  • Hat wrote on December 11, 1:10 pm

It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't so short.

  • Aspiring-screenwriter-pat wrote on December 8, 1:35 am

what tips for the snow machine?

  • razaksroughnecks wrote on November 26, 3:16 am

Erik, PLEASE do a quick tutorial on how to make the rain wand? PLEASE!!!
And what exactly was the large rain device made from? It looked like a giant C-Stand base with a pipe running up. But what was on the end? Anyway, unlike some of the haters above, I thought this was a great show! Keep 'em coming!

  • razaksroughnecks wrote on November 26, 10:48 pm

Oh, and thanks Conrad for letting us see behind the scenes!!!

  • G-Squared wrote on November 25, 8:30 pm

Go back to the Old BFX all these new shows are killing you guys....

  • zachmanZM wrote on November 27, 6:38 pm

Guys calm down, Sure the old BFX would be better but I think it's awesome seeing how other people do FX

  • stevensj123 wrote on November 25, 6:10 pm

You dissopiont me Eric beck! Last monday you didn't do any BFX. You showed short clips of other people FX. Now you are replacing BFX with a stupid show bragging about how professional FX are simalar to yours? YOU DISSOPOINT ME!

  • Sminc wrote on November 26, 12:46 am

    calm down 0_0

  • ryan@indymogul.com wrote on December 18, 12:17 pm

BFx is still happening, these are just some new additions to the show.

  • whitennerdy2damax wrote on November 25, 4:37 pm

you should do one with the sarah silverman people and talk about all the crazy SFX stuff they do on there. they owe you one for using your head melt tutorial.

  • haunted productions wrote on November 25, 4:27 pm

why are you stoping the bfx show i am sad i need bfx

  • ugman77 wrote on November 25, 3:25 pm

it would be really cool if you showed the materials needed for the rain wands. Ive wanted some sort of rain machine, but the one you previously build didn't seem convenient or portable enough.

  • razaksroughnecks wrote on November 26, 10:41 pm

I agree! I made the original rain machine but it was too heavy for me to hang from anywhere I have available :( This rain wand looks like a great alternative!!

  • Knuckles (guest) wrote on November 25, 2:31 pm

Is it me or is this site really starting to suck? It seems like these guys are doing less and less FX each time and asking others to do it for them instead. YAWWWWWN...

  • kevin-smith wrote on November 25, 12:45 pm

HOLY CURD MUFFIN THOSE GUNS IN THE BACKROPUND LOOK REALY REAL:):) HEHE

AR U GUYS GONNA DO A SHOW ABOUT GUNS??:)

  • Jimmy Dean wrote on November 25, 10:46 pm

all you have to do is buy a fake gun at the dollar tree and spray paint it silver or black, they have already covered this

  • indymogul 1!!! wrote on November 25, 9:25 am

    hi

  • saygoodbye (guest) wrote on November 25, 1:21 am

Great show, it was really short though. It would have been better if we had more detail. Maybe you should take viewer questions and get them answered by professionals, that would be amazing!

  • Hat wrote on December 11, 1:12 pm

    There's an idea.

  • Saint13 wrote on November 25, 1:18 am

I really enjoyed this show. I like getting a professional's view on how the real stuff is done.

  • zachmanZM wrote on November 25, 12:05 am

That's awesome! I was hoping you'd spin the price wheel and it would land on trip to hollywood though, But still great episode! Can't wait for the next one!

  • stevensj123 wrote on November 24, 6:04 pm

Great episoded! Do you think you could teach us how to build a new, better snow machine that makes real snow, not frosted flakes? I need that build for a new movie I'm doing. I have gotten so far in my movie, but I cannot figure out how to build a snow machine (neccesary for my movie). Thanks!

  • mizusajt wrote on November 24, 4:29 pm

  • techfilmspresentations wrote on November 24, 3:18 pm

    P.S.
Cool idea for a new show!

  • techfilmspresentations wrote on November 24, 3:16 pm

Conrad, I gotta love your work, but STOP WORKING FOR 'FRINGE'. The effects are the only thing kept me attached to that show for some 2 episodes.

  • MiTAsFo wrote on November 24, 2:25 pm

It could have been longer, but very cool. Nice gadgets! Keep it up. By the way how about you learn how to make Halo weapons or just cool guns that would be helpful and awesome if you make guns and sub machine guns and tacticals that be sooo COOL!!

  • IndyMogulTeam wrote on November 24, 3:43 pm

Just search the archives, we have some great stuff there. Some good places to start are the machine gun arm and the Hellboy gun episodes.

  • M3n747 (guest) wrote on November 24, 2:13 pm

Well, that was interesting and all, but it wasn't very helpful. But still, I liked it.

  • 2184pro wrote on November 24, 2:12 pm

Showing the Pro an Indy build is a great idea. It would be interesting to have a sit down afterward that gives more detail about "money vs. creativity." He agreed that the rain effect was good, but dismissed any real advice on making the snow machine work better.

Also, "350, 351." Nice joke for the Michael Keaton fans.

  • PadawanGeek wrote on November 24, 1:42 pm

    That was awesome!

  • Kitfisdu wrote on November 24, 1:35 pm

"bum barrels" lol. Very interesting although as others have said before me, would have been nicer for it to have been a little longer. Good for your first episode though!

  • John Hickey (guest) wrote on November 24, 1:32 pm

    Great show, really short.... :(

  • mathijsdemachtige wrote on November 24, 1:27 pm
