  • MALIKAI wrote on March 24, 8:44 am

Oh my god thank you sssoooo much jared. i've been waiting sooo long for this episode to finally come up, and YES STEVE I WILL WATCH 4 MIN FILM SCHOOL THIS FRIDAY, IT WILL BE SO AWESOME

  • greendog wrote on March 24, 8:50 am

too bad you can't use it outdoors. :(

  • iambubba wrote on March 24, 6:34 pm

You can, but you need something smooth for it to role on. Just put some rocks or bricks down, then put some plywood on that. If you are affiad of it being in a shot, just paint it green then use the chroma key to edit it out. It works great

  • Robsworld247 (guest) wrote on March 26, 1:12 pm

This episode was a fail. I love this show normaly but this one I do not see as usefull and is a waste of money. It's too bulky, can't transport, and can't be used outside. Did the test film really have to be written? Like was there a skript? OMG Fail. Hopefully MR. Nelson will be the saving grace as usual.

  • Jambon (guest) wrote on March 24, 9:17 am

Long Awaited and WELL worth it!!

Great episode Erik Can't wait to build one these suckers!!!

  • kpb730 (guest) wrote on March 24, 10:10 am

You don't need meat for a prop sandwich.

  • Purduecer (guest) wrote on March 24, 10:11 am

Fun project, how does it compare to getting an old shopping cart or wheelchair though? (That might be cheaper?)

  • iambubba wrote on March 24, 6:37 pm

You could use the wheels off of shopping cart or wheel chair, if you have one laying around it would be a much cheaper build.

  • shaun (guest) wrote on April 16, 7:47 pm

cuz you know how everyone has a spare shopping cart lying around

  • halofanatic12 wrote on March 24, 11:05 am

  • steo41 (guest) wrote on March 24, 11:21 am

    THAT IS AWSOME!

  • gcubedproductions wrote on March 24, 12:02 pm

Pretty nasty design! Looks solid, sturdy, and easy to use. Grat job guys, and I loved the test film!

  • kennythecrackhead wrote on March 24, 12:02 pm

That was the best test film EVER!!!!

  • ducttapemaster wrote on March 24, 1:46 pm

    great epidsode very helpful

  • zone5videowerx wrote on March 24, 1:51 pm

nice simple design, you forgot to mention what the eyebolt was for (I know, bungee cord/tie your tripod to the platform). I have some rollarblade wheels I could use for it instead of the pneumatic, I know it won't be as smooth as them but it's all I got.

  • AMG wrote on March 24, 1:55 pm

Definitely have ampathy for the hard drive situation. Interesting that your dolly is free moving, without a track. we were able to build something similar for use with a track.

  • Dave (guest) wrote on March 24, 2:40 pm

    2 Girls 1 Cup...dudes.....just, eurgh :p

  • mike1630 wrote on March 24, 2:59 pm

ugh lol a 2 girls 1 cup reference.

  • jwalshson09 wrote on March 24, 6:02 pm

what type of tripod are you using there?

  • trebor117 wrote on March 24, 6:33 pm

WE just bought one of those things they use in garages to slide under the cars as a dolly! and it only cost £12(like $20)!

  • rab236 wrote on March 24, 7:27 pm

2 girls 1 cup = just plain wrong

  • Euro83 wrote on March 24, 7:46 pm

Hey prop guy, you dont make friends with salad

  • Hanratty65 wrote on March 24, 9:30 pm

What you could also do is go to your local thrift store and see if you can find an old wheelchair. I got on for $15 and it works pretty well.

  • maguilla wrote on March 24, 10:18 pm

Great episode but, where is the meat?

  • IrishDevil wrote on March 25, 1:11 am

I'm a bit of a tool head myself and take interest in your design. Although there were some choices I was curios about. Granted I couldn't see the wheels all that well, but I'm surprised you didn't go for a soft rubber wheel, rather hard (Quieter and better for outdoor use). Also, if some people use thinner ply wood they may need to add some reinforcement. Also, really cheap steel 90 degree brackets could be used instead of cutting up another 2x4. I plan on looking over those plans though. If I come up with an enhanced design, how do I submit it?

  • Black Dawn Productions wrote on March 25, 2:11 am

Don't forget to include the Vertigo shot with the dolly. It's one of the greatest moves.

  • ishakebabies wrote on March 25, 12:37 pm

ahhh our dance moves were tested in this video, but I just can't outdance a dancing robot! and "prop guy" is Bobby Miller, the director of this awesome test film.

  • Uncle Knuckles (guest) wrote on March 25, 4:37 pm

You could have saved that $50 and just used a shopping cart.

  • Justinsuperstar wrote on March 25, 11:35 pm

Shopping carts (unless you steal them) cost a lot more than $50.

  • Jeronimus wrote on March 26, 12:26 pm

Hey, come on, that's not stealing! I have to pay like a euro to get a shopping cart.

  • trevor (guest) wrote on March 25, 4:45 pm

    I have that robot!

  • hayden (guest) wrote on March 25, 5:22 pm

you could also use a wagon to simplafy (sp) th base

  • Maluro wrote on March 25, 6:50 pm

  • SweeneyCarter234 wrote on March 25, 9:19 pm

I want to know how to create a neck wound like you would find in sweeney todd or kill bill. Please help! btw, u guys rock!

  • Rainer666 wrote on March 25, 10:24 pm

hey i jsut lost my tripods mounting plate anyone knows what i could do to replace it?

  • Robsworld247 (guest) wrote on March 26, 1:16 pm

Go to hard ware store with you camer. Find a screw that will fit into the hole on the bottom of camera. then screw that screw throug a peice of scrap wood. Trim/Shave /sand the scrap wood until it fits into your tripod. or screw it and buy another one.

  • bondservant4jesuschrist wrote on March 26, 3:46 am

This was great idea and for a low price also. (The dolly that is). :)

  • toppie34 wrote on March 26, 3:52 pm

Hey, I also have that robot! Also, I've always wanted to see Indymogul make one of these!

  • steo41 (guest) wrote on March 27, 4:16 pm

Could you use instead of a dolly thing one of those carts that you use when you are to move heavy objects that are kind of small and fit into weird places. Please respond underneath

  • Blu Mage wrote on March 27, 4:38 pm

Erik, I am in love with you. I've been dying for a dolly design you have just saved me a lot of trouble. Excellent episode! I can't wait to put this into use!
