  • Vegemighty wrote on March 3, 10:01 am

Great episode. I loved the test film. Funniest one yet.

But it got me thinking. Perhaps you can just make a camera mounted on an RC car

  • Super Cameraman wrote in reply on March 3, 3:03 pm

Yeah, I've done that. It's not on Youtube or anything, but it's pretty easy, just tape a camera to an RC car, and make sure the car doesn't flip over. I used a pretty good RC car though (Team Losi XXX-T) so I'm not sure a toy RC car could take the wieght.

Also, where was the rig used in the test film? I saw like one half second shot, and that was it.

  • movieman7 (anon) wrote in reply on March 3, 7:14 pm

ya it didnt use much of the actual build in the test film.

  • Kevinaz (anon) wrote on March 3, 10:01 am

whoa! Great Test film! who were the kids?

  • FreshMentos wrote on March 3, 10:03 am

Awesome job Erik. Just...awesome. I can't belive you guys only have 10000 subscibers on YouTube. Indy Mogul is *tears up* amazing...

  • Mythicman (anon) wrote on March 3, 10:22 am

There wasn't really a lot of footage in the test film to let you know how well the rig worked. Other than that, the short looked really smick. Your film making is improving out of site. Now, do i have to put first in here?

  • Ray Biddle wrote on March 3, 10:31 am

I'd have beaten you at hungry hungry hippos Beck!

Great Job! I detect a slight Guy Ritchie Influence there. Just add more footage from your camera rig next time,

  • Matt (anon) wrote on March 3, 10:49 am

This was the best test film of them all!!!

You should do a BFX of BFX! Show us what goes into each episode!!!

  • Euro83 wrote in reply on March 3, 12:27 pm

I second this...Would be neat to see a day of putting BFX in to motion, behind the scene, bloopers, editing...all that fun stuff that goes into putting a show together

  • S-Man (anon) wrote on March 3, 10:52 am

I think that test film was better than 21! And i mean that in a good way- AWESOME test film

  • mookievsshark wrote on March 3, 4:32 pm

kindof a waste of time and money, when you can just have someone hold the camera up to the ceiling, using a chair or something and film :/

  • someone (anon) wrote in reply on March 3, 5:13 pm

not exactly... this gives you more stability and more movement

  • matt (anon) wrote on March 3, 5:07 pm

  • movieman7 (anon) wrote on March 3, 7:12 pm

Make this a 2 part special. Make a way to maybe use a wireless hookup or something to download the live footage to a laptop or a moniter of some sort. this is just a suggestion. because that would be really cool if you were shooting a scene from like a cat burglar hiest and needed a ft security gaurd eating donuts and falling asleep when he's supposed to be watching the screen. lol

  • webstargh wrote on March 3, 8:28 pm

    awesome test film

  • razaksroughnecks wrote on March 3, 8:45 pm

This has to be the BEST flick you've shot so far! Very well done! You must have used one of your 'FANCY' cameras to shoot the slo-mo right?

  • maguilla wrote on March 3, 9:38 pm

This episode soothed the devil inside of me.

No more voices in my head calling for the brutal, slow and painful torture of Erik.

    Good freaking job guys.

    BEST TEXT FILM EVER!!!!
WELL I THINK IT IS BECAUSE I LOVE ACTION TROUBLE MOVIES BUT ITS SO AWSOME!!!!!
BEST ONE!!!!! MAKE MORE LIKE THESE!!!!

  • Scott wrote on March 3, 11:44 pm

Well at least this wasn't another advertisment for Sweeney Todd.

  • AAVP wrote on March 4, 7:53 am

Nice (and funny) video but you hardly showed the rig being used.

I suggest to shoot a 'crime scene' while the security cameras pick it up.

And of course, use the rig foe the security cameras.

  • nomadic_mutt wrote on March 4, 11:16 am

DEFINATELY the best test film to date.

    great job guys.

  • josho wrote on March 4, 2:44 pm

Best movie to date, in my opinion. Fun, great angle, editing, etc. Good story too!

  • Todd wrote on March 4, 4:31 pm

yea, great episode! hungry hungry hippos was one of my fav games as a kid.

  • Joey (anon) wrote on March 4, 4:48 pm

Not to bash Indy Mogul, and I do love them, but this was a pretty useless episode. Not only did you only see 2 seconds total of the actual footage shot with it, you could have EASILY pulled off this by putting your tripod to its highest length or sanding on a chair with the camera over your head. This was just a "Rube Goldberg" for a simple effect. Not to mention, he actually went over budget to pull off just a simple effect that could have been done with a chair or ladder.

  • Jesse Johnson (anon) wrote on March 4, 5:26 pm

Wow, really slick test video this time around. Very professional.

  • ugman77 wrote on March 4, 5:46 pm

nice work, but the only thing i dont get is why would you use this insted of just having someone hold the camera up there?

  • dfhhdaf (anon) wrote on March 4, 6:07 pm

    This belongs on weekend extra...

  • dizzy wrote on March 5, 12:09 am

that was quite honestly the greatest test film ever.

    behind the scenes?

  • Hole-in-the-Sock Productions (anon) wrote on March 5, 1:16 pm

that's what i'm talking about! thanks. you could probably do the same thing just by putting someone on a stepladder in the corner, but do you think you could put this on the jib arm thing?

  • oooyo (anon) wrote on March 5, 2:05 pm

that was cool. And when they showed the guys playing the little kid games then erik got punched and the money flew up into the air in slow motion.

  • DJ Andy wrote on March 6, 12:30 am

    Great test film Mr. Beck.

    Who's kids were they?

  • Jonathan Gum wrote on March 6, 9:24 pm

that test film.......my word best shots, the security shots were only the icing on top to make it look better

  • Laxsith wrote on March 10, 9:28 am

That was the best test video yet I think, not to mention the episode of course!

  • marionyeager (anon) wrote on March 10, 11:27 am

    Would love to see video

  • Kocky13 (anon) wrote on March 10, 1:36 pm

how did you make those effects with the flying money and game pieces look so dynamic, the money in the air looks like professional work

  • DoddProductions (anon) wrote on March 11, 10:05 am

Best test film in a while, Hippo steroids. . .

  • krajstof (anon) wrote on March 11, 9:12 pm

What camera did U use shooting the slow mo shots? Was it in 30 fps or 60 fps?

  • IdiotFool wrote on March 12, 9:38 pm

Amazing! Every video without Justin is good. Every one with him sucks. That guy is seriously a terrible "actor". Even these 9 year olds are better.

I agree with everyone else that the amount of energy/time that went into this for a 1-2 sec shot really isn't worth it, in my opinion.

  • Jonathan (anon) wrote on March 13, 11:31 am

Great job Erik, I gotta say that was certainly the best test film to date. I love the whole guy ritchie "lock stock and two smoking barrels" style. Nicely done.

  • CTrax wrote on March 13, 2:24 pm

Wow, that's an amazing rig. But, unless do you really need a rig like that to get shots? Couldn't your cameraman just make those shots while standing on some ladders or something? I'm confused. :( But the test film is absolutely crazy.

  • Austin Architech (anon) wrote on March 14, 8:47 am

It seems like you could buy a old or used pan and tilt mount actually made for cameras, theres a cool rc servo controlled mount for rc plane cameras at rangevideo.com you just need to buy some cheap radio equipment to use it.

  • kennythecrackhead wrote on March 19, 3:10 pm

    awesome test film

  • Jake (guest) wrote on March 26, 5:43 pm

That was such a Guy Richie test film...I loved it!

  • randomman (guest) wrote on March 27, 7:12 pm

I'm sorry eric, but you just wasted 48 dollars.
I could see a security camera prop, but you don't really need all that to simulate a security camera.
Besides, you barely used it in the test film.
    Funny test film, though.

  • Austin (guest) wrote on March 31, 11:01 pm

hey your guys show rock and me and my freinds are trying to make a hulk movie we already have most of the movie done butt we have no ideya how to make us turn big and green and how to make us turn big and have spikes on our back. thank we could relly need the help so thanks.

  • guest (guest) wrote on April 5, 11:53 pm

WORST BUILD EVER! completely pointless, you can do the same thing by putting your tripod up high so the camera is close to the ceiling and doing steady pans and tilts.
    Pretty cool test film though.

  • Nonsensical Studios (guest) wrote on April 10, 7:48 pm

I loved the slow mo sections of the scenes, it really added a bit of tension.

  • cyclops336 (guest) wrote on April 20, 7:38 pm
