Is there any one that you can send your movie script to. to find out if it is any good? Other THEN FAMILY
cool videos
lol
In high school there was this girl who told me she was going to eat my fallopian tubes all the time. I feel for ya Steve.
I back the "everyone sounds the same" problem. Different accents are good way to LEARN to deal with the problem - but you should pay attention to word choice and pauses as well. Every person uses them differently.
I agree with Flipsproductions your kid shouldn't be watching this show even if your 8 or nine for there is language and don't change the show just because some winy parent is complaining that there kids are going to start using this language! GET OVER IT AMERICA!!!!!! Your kids shoudn't be whatching a show attended for kids 13 and older.
grow up, get your kids off the internet if they cant hear that type of language. I'm glad they're using the language they are if i want to watch sesame street I'll turn on the TV.
I'm sorry to have to agree on the whole "stupid jokes" thing. I don't have a thing against being funny, but when you have 4 minutes to teach something I'd like to see those four minutes be well consumed instead of filled with irrelevant nonsense. Something more along the lines of the first FMFS about scriptwriting.
Also, there were so many aspects of dialogue included here (both writing it as recording and redubbing it), that they could and should've all been discussed better. I'm sure that so much more could've been said.
I like the way you worked in the whole "invasion of privacy" part of the episode. Very current. HAHA
Was just going through some of the comments Steve, and I'm sorry, but I have to agree with the last two. I remember watching an episode and hearing Eric drop the F-word. Even though it was beeped out, you knew exactly what he said and it threw me off. A lot of younger kids watch this Podcast - because it's really good and informative. You guys do a good show - and swearing just for the sake of it just isn't necesary. While I'm at it, and sorry to be so negative, but you only have 4 mins to get across what you're trying to teach us. But you spend a huge amount of that time on really dumb jokes. While I don't want to see this turn into CNN, I do watch your episodes to try and learn something, not to see a lot of school yard amatuer hour comedy skits.
Come on guys! Indy Mogul is a great show, a fantastic resource, and a really educational and helpful piece of entertainment. Don't let it degrade just for the sake of a cheap laugh.
I usually let my children watch what they want on the internet because I trust them, but after overhearing this episode i was discusted by the language used in this online video clip.
Qoute
"my balls are in danger"
"I have your testicles on 24 hour survalence"
Seems like you missed the part about him eating his testicles... but really testicles and balls isn't language to be disgusted by. It might not be something appropriate for kids hearing, but if you are digusted by this that much then you should just take the computer away right now.
P.S. You spelled "disgusted" and "quote" incorrectly.
As well as Surveillance.
Been watching for a while now. And while I understand we are all adults(or soon to be adults, or even young people doing adult things) are I find Steve, more so then Eric, seems to rely heavily on sexually abusive based gags. And it distracts me from what is actually trying to be convied. But that just my Opinion.
I agree. It annoys me a lot because I'm only 13.
I have a Kodak EasyShare C533 digital camera .I cant get my video file to windows movie maker .
Great info!
I do have a question for you tho:
When it comes to doing the cloning effect I have to trouble, It's the Damn Dialogue! What I mean is HOW do you work out the Timing from between the two of you? I realize that you did quite a few cuts in the scenes. But, is there truly a way or technique to sinc up both your characters dialogue continually so they don't cross over each other? PLease help! I'm desperate! :P
"For, my ball are in danger." lol One of the best quotes yet.
Ummm... why is Johnny B. Goode (and various other songs) playing in the background
When recording ADR (replaced Dialogue) try and replicate the sound conditions of the original take. Use the same mic, have it the same distance away from the actor. The closer you can recreate the original recording environment, the easier it will be to pass it off as original.
"Unexpet the unexpected" ahhhh ok ok.... got it! Thanks :D
What about his testicles are they aten?
It's "eaten" and I think they are.
Steve and Tom Green are best friends now.
third comment yep dis episode is very interesting great work steve nelson
Second.... thank for the episode... I was actually just writing some dialogue right now...
I just dont know what Steve means by "Unexpect the Expected"
Your actors should pretend to not know what's going to happen.
With Unexpect the Expected, it's a cool directorial trick to omit something from one actors script so that when they are fed the line from the other actor, there reaction will be genuine.
I was recording dialogue from my friends Bar comedy, and one of the guys walks over to his friends and is like, "What the hell, I never do this bad (pulling in chicks)" The second actor goes, "Well, maybe that's because they know you are gay."
At this point, the first actor's line is, "fuck you!" or something like that, but instead he says, "oh yea well I hope you get aids!"
Then actor 3 deliveres a line and actor 2 remains dead quiet in shock from the "aids" line.
Finally the director says cut and we all burst out laughing.
Allowing your actors to Improvise lines is probably the best way to get natural sounding dialogs. The script is more of a guideline, IMO.
love the episode
first!!
